Terms & Conditions (UK)

  1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all sales conducted by LC Auctions (“the Auctioneer”). By registering for and participating in any auction, bidders agree to be bound by these Terms.

  1. Legal Framework

All auctions are conducted in accordance with applicable UK law, including but not limited to:

Auctions (Bidding Agreements) Act 1969
The Sale of Goods Act 1979
The Unfair Trading Regulations 2008

  1. Registration

All bidders must:

Register prior to bidding
Provide accurate identification and contact details
Be at least 18 years of age

The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse or revoke registration at its discretion.

  1. Bidding Process
    The Auctioneer may refuse any bid at its discretion
    Bidding increments are determined by the Auctioneer
    The highest bid accepted by the Auctioneer at the fall of the hammer (timer runs out) constitutes the winning bid
  2. Binding Contract
    When the hammer falls (timer runs out):

A legally binding contract is formed between the buyer and the seller
The winning bidder is legally obligated to complete the purchase
This is in accordance with general principles under UK contract law and the Sale of Goods Act 1979

Failure to honour a winning bid may result in:
Legal action
Banning from future auctions
Liability for losses incurred

  1. Buyer’s Premium

A buyer’s premium of 25% (plus VAT where applicable) will be added to the hammer price of each lot.

Example:
Hammer price £100 → Total £125 (+ VAT if applicable)

  1. Payment Terms
    Payment is due immediately upon the fall of the hammer for each lot
    Accepted payment methods: Debit and Credit card.
    Title to the goods does not pass until full cleared payment is received

The Auctioneer reserves the right to:
Charge interest on overdue amounts
Cancel sales for non-payment

  1. Description of Lots
    All lots are sold “as seen”
    Descriptions, condition reports, and images are provided for guidance only
    The Auctioneer makes no warranties or guarantees unless expressly stated

Buyers are strongly advised to inspect lots prior to bidding.

Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Risk and shipping
Risk passes to the buyer immediately upon the fall of the hammer
Items will be shipped within 10 working days.

Withdrawals and Reserves
Lots may be subject to a reserve price.
The Auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot at any time before sale.

Disputes
In the event of a dispute:
The Auctioneer’s decision is final.
The Auctioneer may re-offer the lot or cancel the sale.

Liability
The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Data Protection
All personal data will be handled in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
